2004 07 08 - 2004 07 16d. in France was an international chess tournament "6eme festival international d'echecs de Saint-Lo".Tournament was distributed into 4 groups: OPEN JEUNES(Junior to age of 20) , TOURNOI de MIF Feminin(Female masters) , TOURNOI de MI(Masters) , OPEN d'ETE(Seignior). The main judges was Hubert BENETEAU and Jean-Paul MAUPIN. 2 chess-players were represented for Lithuania: Airidas Savickas /FIDE rating 2234/ ir Etjenas Badaljanas/FIDE rating 2030/, whose played in junior tournament(229 members from 24 countries). Etjenas Badaljanas collected 6,5 points from 9 and took 11 place , but Airidas Savickas after failure in last round collected 6 points and took 17 place.

Our friends friendly chess family from Wales. Young, but efficient players: Joseff Thomas and his brother Jac Thomas. Under careful support of their parents-Mr. and Mrs Thomas. As we were told father`s influence may lead to a fact that young boys can appear soon in a Wales chess elite. If mother`s influence will win-we will hear those talented boys becoming a famous musicians. We know that famous GM Vladimir Smyslov was a very good singer. This allows us to hope for a compromiss. |
